Simple delights.

At breakfast this morning, a few friends and I discussed our delight in rainy weather. I found it appropriate to post a photograph that I took in a small town along the Menomonee River earlier this fall. There is nothing more serene than the gentle sound of light rain on a quiet river.

  1. I am in love with this shot, I keep coming back to look at it.
Compositionally it is intriguing with a beautiful play on symmetry, the incorporation/play with lines within the open tackle box, the fishing pool he is holding, in the chair, in boards/posts of the dock, as well as the flannel shirt danny is wearing is subtle but adds great depth. Additionally, the colors as well as the reflection of the subject on the dock not only highlight the image in just the right way, but seem to add a calming quality to the image.
    Ultimately, I must seem more.
